Pilates / Yoga Classes
Pilates is a contemporary approach to exercise. It is excellent for injury rehabilitation, spine & and back care, pelvic floor & and diaphragm function. It can strengthen & tone muscle, assist with weight loss programmes, relieve stress & and tension, improve flexibility, posture, balance and enhance coordination. I have specific classes for pre / post-natal care.
Yoga is an ancient practice that involves physical poses, concentration, and deep breathing. A regular yoga practice can promote endurance, strength, calmness, flexibility, improved digestion, well-being and the development of everything from personal posture to spiritual awakening.
Yogalates is a combination of both practices.
Class levels vary but are suitable for athletes, amateurs and everyone in between.

Injury Rehabilitation
I work alongside, doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths post injury or trauma to devise a specific rehabilitation plan. This will promote mobility, stability, agility, strength and stamina. It is vital to build a strong foundation post injury and develop weak muscles in order to support you and get you back to regular pain free exercise.
"As an athlete, I have had back issues but Joanne's classes have improved my core strength, and mobility and reduced any aches or pains I may have. If someone in the class has an injury or pain before a class starts, Joanne alters that person's session so they are comfortable during the class and still get a great workout in. I would highly recommend this class to anyone." - Glenn

Pregnancy Yoga
+ Active Birthing
As a blessed mother of three and someone who has had a very positive experience with labour and birthing, I wanted to share my knowledge and research with other mothers-to-be. I have always been interested in training pre & post-natal clients but my own special journey prompted me to train in Pregnancy Yoga and Active Birthing. I feel it is so important to spread the word “Momma’s are amazing, we have inner strength like no other, never doubt your built-in, deep seeded instinct. You and your baby can do this, move and breathe”.
-
Pregnancy Yoga is specific movement and breath for building strength and flexibility where you need it most during pregnancy. It helps to soothe pregnancy symptoms such as back, neck and pelvic pain, rib flare, heartburn, muscle cramps and other common complaints while reassuring the mothers along the way.
-
We functionally use the pelvic floor muscles - mindfully connecting, contracting and releasing. This supports us not only during pregnancy and birthing but also for recovery and the rest of our lives.
-
We use proven breathing techniques to support you in pregnancy, labour, birth and for the future.
-
We use mediation and positive birthing affirmations to prepare your mindset for labour and motherhood.
-
In pregnancy, rest is so important. At the end of each class, we will bring your focus inward for deep restorative relaxation and yoga Nidra’s.
1-1 pregnancy and birthing sessions are currently in practice.
Classes coming soon…. Join us and experience the benefits of Pregnancy Yoga and Active Birthing classes.
